"Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) and Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) just last week introduced H.R. 3, the "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act," which will permanently prohibit taxpayer funding of abortion across all federal programs.Send an email to your representatives to urge them to vote for H.R. 3.
If this bill is signed into law, you will never again be troubled by the thought that some of the money you send to the IRS is being siphoned off to kill babies in the womb.
H.R. 3 will take the language of the Hyde Amendment and put it into federal law. Since the Hyde Amendment has to be passed every year, it makes protection for unborn babies vulnerable to changes in the makeup of Congress."

Infertility, Androgyny, and the Righteous Judgment of God
Since the 1960's, and especially within the last 15 years, there has been an exponential increase in birth control hormones in our water supply. This is because there has been an unprecendented increase in fornication, in which children are not wanted, and, increasingly, even married couples do not want children. So women have been taking "The Pill," for longer and longer periods during their fertile years. (And then at menopause many women take estrogen-replacements.) These hormones are excreted in the urine and enter the wastewater systems of municipalities.
The wastewater is then treated for bacteria and other pathogens, but not for birth control hormones. Our municipal wastewater is also not treated for the many other chemicals and drugs people are taking in the aging, hedonistic, and drug-obsessed culture of the West (cocaine, nicotine, heroin, anti-depressants, pain-killers, caffeine, antibiotics, chemotherapy drugs, sunscreens, detergents, etc.).
Women who take birth control hormones have increased risk of breast cancer, abortion (or miscarriage), and infertility. Men who take birth control hormones become effeminate and have an increased risk of infertility (low sperm count). The humanists are oh, so, concerned about the androgyny increasingly found in male fish because of this problem---but, honey, it ain't just the fish (and frogs and river otters).
Human males are taking on feminine characteristics, too. It is a spiritual, moral problem, but it has a physical manifestation.
Oh, the poetic justice of God's judgment. Sometimes, God really doesn't have to do anything to us; just leave us alone. We'll dig our own pit.
(Although it shouldn't amaze me, it always amazes me that, to the environmentalist humanists, it's just fine for men to be inadvertently feminized and sterilized, but if fish are inadvertently feminized and sterilized, now we have a real problem. How topsy-turvy.)
The problem is NOT a lack of "consciousness" and education about the environment. The problem is a MORAL problem. For "There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man."
We do not love children as God says we should, we do not love our husbands as God says we should, we are not meek as God says we should be. We aren't helping our husbands take a stewardship dominion over the earth (including fish) as God says we should be doing. Rather, we want to play God with the womb, with our health, and with future generations.
At the root, this wish to play God is a really a wish to replace God and put ourselves on the throne, in sinful rebellion. "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."
But God is sovereign; there is no way anyone, not one person, is going to get away with that. Either one will believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and have his heart changed; or he will continue in sin and rebellion and be consigned to hell for eternity. I urge you to believe in, repent of your sin and put your trust in, the Lord Jesus Christ, for "whosoever believeth in Him [shall] not perish, but have eternal life."
If this is the first time you've heard of this problem, you may be interested in reading one or more of the following articles (and you can find many more online; this is a small sampling):

"Writing in the journal Environmental Science and Technology, researchers from Sweden say that traces of many medicines can be found in fish that have been swimming in treated waste water. One such medicine, the hormone levonorgestrel, was found in higher concentrations in fish than in women who take the contraceptive pill. Elevated levels of levonorgestrel can lead to infertility in fish. Levonorgestrel is a synthetic hormone that is used in many contraceptive pills, hormone implants and morning-after pills. It is thought that around 80-90 million women use contraceptive pills worldwide.""Birth-control pills poison everyone?" (World Net Daily, Jul. 2007)
What can we do? I highly recommend at least filtering the tap water that you use for cooking and drinking.
To quote from "Is birth control aborting our health? " above:
"With such contaminants proving elusive to municipal filtration systems, the burden of protection often lies with the end user. But getting traces of birth control and other drugs out of your tap water isn’t so easy. Of the many different kinds of in-home water filtration systems available today, only those employing reverse osmosis have been shown to filter out some drugs. Some makers of activated carbon water filters claim their products catch pharmaceuticals, but independent research has not verified such claims.
“The best choice,” says Cathy Sherman of the natural health website Natural News, “would probably be a combination of a reverse osmosis filter augmented by pre- and post-activated carbon filters.” Installing such a system just for drinking water is sufficient, she says, given that water used for cleaning and plumbing doesn’t typically get ingested. As to prevention, the non-profit public health and safety agency, NSF International, urges individuals to not use their toilets or sinks to dispose of unused medications and to opt for the garbage instead; most modern landfills are lined to keep such contaminants inside."
And only drink rBST-free milk. Don't get me started.

Joyful Confidence in Jesus Christ
"It is impossible to read the New Testament without being impressed by the atmosphere of joyful confidence which pervades it, and which stands out in relief against the rather jejune [insubstantial, lacking maturity, dull] religion that often passes for Christianity today. There was no defeatism about the early Christians; they spoke rather of victory. For example, 'thanks be to God! He gives us the victory...'. Again, 'in all these things (sc. adversities and dangers ) we are more than conquerors...'. Once more, 'God...always leads us in triumphal procession...'.And each of Christ's letters to the seven churches of Asia ends with a special promise 'to him who overcomes'. Victory, conquest, triumph, overcoming--this was the vocabulary of those first followers of the risen Lord. For if they spoke of victory, they knew they owed it to the victorious Jesus."

Psalm 10, the Sanctity of Human Life, and a Mass Murderer
Recently, the sickening story of an evil and gruesome mass murderer, Kermit B. Gosnell, in Philadelphia, PA, has reached the media. He murdered babies for decades, and made millions of dollars for it.

Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble? The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth. The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
His ways are always grievous [NKJ: prospering]; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them. He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity. His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.
He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily [secretly] set against the poor. He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net. He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.
He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it. Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble. Wherefore doth the wicked contemn [renounce] God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it [an account].
Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless. Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.
The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land. LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress. (Psalm 10)
How Do Rulers Receive and Give Blessing, According to the Rock of Israel?
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me [David], "He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain."

In Praise of Dr. Gary North
I thank God for Dr. Gary North, and I wish to give Dr. North some well-deserved praise in this post. He is so often the object of criticism, so often undeserved, that I wanted to take this opportunity of having a blog to publicly praise this brother. I was honored to hear him speak in person at an American Vision conference a few years ago, and I wish I had not let the chance go by to speak to him personally.
I wish I had the time to write and post reviews of all his books I've read. There are so many more which I have yet to read (though I plan to do so, Lord willing). These are Dr. North's books I've read:
Backward, Christian Soldiers?
Christian Reconstruction: What It Is and What It Isn't (co-authored with Gary DeMar)
Conspiracy: A Biblical View
Crossed Fingers: How Liberals Captured the Presbyterian Church
Dominion and Common Grace: The Biblical Basis of Progress
Healer of the Nations (Biblical Blueprints Series, Vol. 9)
Marx's Religion of Revolution: Regeneration through Chaos
Millennialism and Social Theory
Political Polytheism
Tactics of Christian Resistance (editor and contributor, Christianity & Civilization Series, Vol. 3)
Theonomy: An Informed Response (editor and contributor)
Unconditional Surrender: God's Program for Victory
Unholy Spirits
Unknown History of the 20th Century (lectures on DVD)
Westminster's Confession: The Abandonment of Van Til's Legacy
Thank you, Dr. Gary North!
- He is a true Christian brother who is a sinner saved by grace and does not allow the fact that he's a sinner paralyze him or prevent him from making effort to take dominion for his Head, Jesus Christ.
- He loves the gospel of Christ and understands how this frees us (Christians) to love the law of God.
- He has devoted his life to the cause of Christ and advancing the kingdom of Christ.
- He is brilliant, well-read, and savvy.
- He asks insightful questions, even the tough ones, and causes people to think.
- He is a diligent hard-worker and productive of valuable books, articles, newsletters, and speeches.
- He is a husband and father.
- He has taken criticism and shown moral courage in carrying on in his work for the sake of Christ.
- He has brought the writings of Christian Reconstructionists into mass circulation when it is likely they otherwise would not have been published.
- He has been apt to teach and mentor younger men and allowed them to stand on his shoulders to carry on with kingdom-building work when he is gone (point 5 of Ray Sutton's 5-point covenant model ;-) )
- He has a great sense of humor and "tweaks the noses" of those who need their noses tweaked.
- He is a ground-breaker who is willing to confront entrenched establishment systems for the sake of Christ and Christendom.
I wish I had the time to write and post reviews of all his books I've read. There are so many more which I have yet to read (though I plan to do so, Lord willing). These are Dr. North's books I've read:

At Last! A Pastor Upholds the Wife as a Keeper at Home in A Sermon Given in a Local Church
"That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."

I can't describe how it felt to hear the full counsel of God preached on this passage, so "taboo" in our modern American churches. I could listen to it over and over. It was just wonderful!

"Do Not Pray for Easy Lives" by Phillips Brooks
Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men!
Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks.
Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks.
Wow! Great Rally with March for Life Yesterday
I was so encouraged by the heartfelt prayers, speeches from our pro-life representatives, singing (Amazing Grace and God Bless America), sign-holding, and the commitment of the thousands of people--men, women, and children--who came out to shiver in the rain and take a public stand for the right of the helpless unborn person to be free from murder.
My signs were a big hit! How could they fail to be, with the word of God on them? :-) Several people took pictures of me with my signs, and one of my signs was pointed out (Sign 3, Side 2) in one of the speeches.
I made three signs, and each was two-sided. Stenciled using black acrylic paint pens, outlined in silver glitter, and sprayed with a sealer to make it water-resistant. They worked out great, except the posterboard was a little floppy. Fortunately, it wasn't windy. Next time, I would use foam board.
Sign 1 had these messages:
Side 1: YOU SHALL NOT MURDER Ex. 20:13; Deut. 5:17; Matt. 19:18; Mark 10:19; Luke 18:20; Rom. 13:9; Jer. 22:3
Side 2: CHOOSE LIFE Deut. 30:19
Sign 2 had these messages:
Side 1: BEFORE I FORMED YOU IN THE WOMB I KNEW YOU Jer. 1:5
Side 2: DID NOT ONE FASHION US IN THE WOMB? Job 31:15
Sign 3 had these messages:
Side 1: INIQUITY FRAMES EVIL BY A LAW AND CONDEMNS THE INNOCENT BLOOD Ps. 94:20-21
Side 2: BE INSTRUCTED YOU JUDGES SERVE THE LORD WITH FEAR Ps. 2:10-11
There were about 10 pro-murder hecklers. The speakers made sure to note to the crowd at a couple points that we should reach out to them with love and with the truth of God's word and evangelize.
My guesstimate is that 90% of the crowd was Roman Catholic, though it was an ecumenical rally. There were even Eastern Orthodox clergy there. Many Roman Catholic parishes, schools, and benevolent service organizations (Knights of Columbus) had banners with their names on them for all to see. In addition, the names of the Catholic (and possibly Eastern Orthodox) churches were proclaimed by microphone to the crowd as pro-life supporters. No Protestant churches were mentioned. The rally was broadcast (twice) over Sacred Heart Radio.
I was happy and impressed to hear that the pro-life legislators’ speeches and the priests’ prayers were steeped in Scripture, and to see so many take a public stand (on the grounds of the state capitol building, no less!) for what's right based on God's word.
Would I worship with the Roman Catholics? No.
Would I stand for the word of God in public sphere alongside Roman Catholics? Yes.
P.S. Mary was not mentioned, but King Jesus was.
That Roman Catholics were the ones standing virtually ALONE publicly at this rally for the right of the unborn to be free from murder is a SHAME to Protestants. Where were the Protestant Christians at this rally? Where was the “good-works-are-evidence-of-a-living-and-saving-faith” crowd? Is there a local Protestant church that would like its name listed over a microphone at a pro-life rally at the state capital as being officially pro-life? Is there a Protestant church that would bus everyone to the state capital to stand for life?
Does anyone know of a Reformed Protestant annual pro-life rally in the Northwest of the USA?

"Nobody Knows But Mother" by Mary Morrison
How many buttons are missing today?
Nobody knows but Mother.
How many playthings are strewn in her way?
Nobody knows but Mother.
How many thimbles and spools has she missed?
How many burns on each fat little fist?
How many bumps to be cuddled and kissed?
Nobody knows but Mother.
How many hats has she hunted today?
Nobody knows but Mother.
Carelessly hiding themselves in the hay--
Nobody knows but Mother.
How many handkerchiefs willfully strayed?
How many ribbons for each little maid?
How for her care can a mother be paid?
Nobody knows but Mother.
How many muddy shoes all in a row?
Nobody knows but Mother.
How many stockings to darn, do you know?
Nobody knows but Mother.
How many little torn aprons to mend?
How many hours of toil must she spend?
What is the time when her day's work shall end?
Nobody knows but Mother.
How many lunches for Tommy and Sam?
Nobody knows but Mother.
Cookies and apples and blackberry jam--
Nobody knows but Mother.
Nourishing dainties for every "sweet tooth,"
Toddling Dottie or dignified Ruth--
How much love sweetens the labor, forsooth?
Nobody knows but Mother.
How many cares does a mother's heart know?
Nobody knows but Mother.
How many joys from her mother love flow?
Nobody knows but Mother.
How many prayers for each little white bed?
How many tears for her babes has she shed?
How many kisses for each curly head?
Nobody knows but Mother.

Forty-One Percent of NYC Babies Murdered in the Womb (Down from Forty-Six Percent in 1998)
http://www.lifenews.com/
http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/local/new_york&id=7883827
It's closer to 60% for black babies...
Friends, we need to continue to stand against this evil holocaust, and we need to increase our current efforts. Most of us, including me, could do more than we are now.
If Christians won't, who will? Who will care except those who know the fear of, and the mercies of, Christ Jesus?

Pro-Life Signs for Pro-Life Marches and Abortion Protests
When you go to a pro-life rally or march, such as one organized by March for Life or National Right to Life (which also has state chapters), you will want to bring a sign to be able to peacefully and forcefully communicate your reason for being there.
If you internet search "march for life [the capital of your state]," you will find out details about the March for Life in your state. If you live close to the DC area, there will be details about buses going to DC for the march there.
First, about the duty of Christians to stand for God and His word PUBLICLY beyond what I've shared in this post regarding Christian opposition to abortion.
The Lord Jesus Christ said, as recorded in Luke 8:15b-17:
And that brings us to signage at pro-life marches. I plan to do up some signs that are simply made with a yardstick (cheap, strong, lightweight), and two posterboards with large stenciled lettering on them (both sides of the sign), which is stapled, taped, and hot-glued to each other/the yardstick. I'm going to try dark lettering outlined in glitter. If you have five or more people coming to the march, you might consider a canvas or vinyl (not paper) banner with a stenciled, inked message. Making these signs would be a fun family or church activity.
You want something lightweight, but which can hold up to January weather. You might decide to spray your signs with a polyurethane coating or have them laminated before assembling. (Keep in mind that hot-glue doesn't stick to lamination very well, so you will need to use staples and tape instead.) Bring clear duct tape to make quick sign repairs.
In addition, you might want an effective picture or decoration to draw the eye to your sign. My personal view is that graphic pictures of, for example, cut-up and bloody aborted babies, is not wise for these events because children will likely see them, and those pictures can deeply and adversely affect them, much more than adults may realize. So, in my opinion, it's better to have pictures of beautiful little newborns, or mommies and daddies holding their little precious ones, or a picture of a red rose, etc. Certainly more gory, graphic pictures are truthful and very appropriate in their time and place; I would just urge discretion in their use for broadcast-type messages (Ecc. 8:5).
You can also buy signs, bumper stickers, etc. ProLifeSigns.com and ProLifeBumper.com are two good sources. You might also try UnbornWordoftheDay.com or ProLife.com. I found many of the non-Scripture (but consistent with Scripture) sign messages I list below from these sites.
In my opinion, the best pro-life signs contain short Scripture messages. This makes it clear that you are Christians standing for God's word publicly. Also, Scripture is wonderful because you want the ungodly to look askance at "those people" (abortion protesting pro-lifers) and have the Word of God be seared into their brains.
Only Scripture, if the Holy Spirit blesses, can do that the most effectively. "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Heb. 4:12)
Nevertheless, I include non-Scripure messages as well in the ideas below. Before I list some messages for you to consider for your signs, I also wanted to note how we bring a message that the ungodly can see with more than just our word-signs (1 Sam. 16:7).
The ungodly can also see our physical appearance and our behavior. When we go to these marches, we must be warmly dressed in clean clothing in good repair and in eye-pleasing color combinations. We, including our children, must be well-scrubbed, clean cut, hair combed, with cheerful smiles on our faces. Our children must be well-trained and well-behaved. (If your children are not trained yet, you may want to leave them with trusted babysitters. It is difficult to hold a pro-baby sign while exhaustedly chasing and restraining Little Tantrum-Throwing Terrors.) No littering. No belligerence. No scowling or frowning with straggly hair, shivering in dumpy unisex t-shirts and torn jeans. Although we are exercising our civil liberties and protesting, we are not hippies. We are Christians, and we must show the dignity of life in our persons. We must show forth the truth of God that children are blessings from Him. It probably goes without saying, but I'm just saying anyway...
On to possible messages for our signs. They should be short, so that people can read them at a glance, and so that the lettering can be made large enough to see from a distance on a small, lightweight sign. Six or less words is a good rule of thumb, though I personally have great difficulty with this (as you can see from my long-winded posts!). Nevertheless, I have to face the fact that people can't read long Bible passages or dissertations on our march signs :-) You would probably be able to cut down some of the Scriptures below even more to fit better on a sign.

First, about the duty of Christians to stand for God and His word PUBLICLY beyond what I've shared in this post regarding Christian opposition to abortion.
The Lord Jesus Christ said, as recorded in Luke 8:15b-17:
"They, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad."And in John 3:21, He said:
"But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."There is little fruit brought forth from being pro-life in your heart, but not pro-life in such a way as anyone could ever know it. The heathen suppress the truth in unrighteousness; therefore, the truth must be brought to their attention.
"Womanhood" by William Arthur Ward
Blessed is the woman who has a smile in her voice, a sparkle in her eyes, a song on her lips, a spring in her step, a warmth in her touch, a depth to her beauty, a purpose to her life, a joy in her faith, a hope in her breast, and a love in her heart.

"I Have Found Such Joy" by Grace Noll Crowell
I have found such joy in simple things;
A plain clean room, a nut-brown loaf of bread,
A cup of milk, a kettle as it sings,
The shelter of a roof above my head,
And in a leaf-laced square along the floor,
Where yellow sunlight glimmers through a door.
I have found such joy in things that fill
My quiet days: a curtain's blowing grace,
A potted plant upon my window sill,
A rose, fresh-cut and placed within a vase;
A table cleared, a lamp beside a chair,
And books I long have loved beside me there.
Oh, I have found such joys I wish I might
Tell every woman who goes seeking far
For some elusive, feverish delight,
That very close to home the great joys are:
The elemental things--old as the race,
Yet never, through the ages, commonplace.

Some Thoughts on 38 Years of the "Legal" Murder of the Unborn in the U.S.
Thirty-eight years ago this month, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the illegalization of abortion was not Constitutional.
What a lie.
Truly the these judges believed they were gods, deciding for themselves what is good and evil, right and wrong. They have so many millions of deaths of unborn babies on their hands, along with the parents who have sacrificed their children to their gods of Self or Money, and along with the abortionist executioner-"doctors" who have carried out the will of the judges and the parents.
May God's people not give up until Roe v. Wade is overturned and/or abortion is ended, with or without the repentance of the U.S. Supreme Court judges themselves. May our nation repent.
Many pro-life organizations are planning marches or protests during this month, as they have every January for the past 37 years. I hope you will join in a public march for life or give financially to a pro-life organization or crisis pregnancy center or in your area this month.
Let us remember the fatherless and what an abomination it is to the Lord Jesus Christ for us to condone or become complacent in regard to the shedding of innocent blood.
Throughout Holy Scripture, we learn that God's way, as exemplified in the Lord Jesus Himself, is for the strong to protect the weak. It is the opposite of the way of natural man, who declares for himself that the strong shall live and the weak shall die. The strongest among us should protect the weakest among us, even to our own hurt. This is the way that God shows His people is the way of His Kingdom.
UPATE: I've posted on some ideas, including signs, etc., to consider when attending a pro-life march or rally.
And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. Gen. 4:1
For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. Gen. 21:2
And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins. Gen. 35:11
And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already. Ex. 1:5
If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. Ex. 21:22-25
Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. Deut. 12:30-32
If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three: that innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee. Deut. 19:9-10
But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death. Judges 13:7
Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name. 1 Kings 8:19 (see also 2 Chron. 6:9)
With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his. He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools. He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle. He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty. He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged. He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty. He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death. He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again. Job 12:16-23
What then shall I do when God riseth up? and when he visiteth, what shall I answer him? Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb? If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail; Or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof; (For from my youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother's womb;)...If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate: Then let mine arm fall from my shoulder blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone. For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his highness I could not endure. Job 31:13-18, 21-23
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Psalm 2:1-11
They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage. They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless. Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it. Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise? He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see? He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know? Psalm 94:5-10
Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law? They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood. But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge. Psalm 94:20-22
Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood. Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions. Psalm 106:37-39
Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Psalm 139:12-14
These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood... Prov. 6:16-17
By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth. I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Prov. 8:15-17
As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. Ecc. 11:5
And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. Is. 11:2-4
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Is. 49:15
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Jer. 1:5
Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these. Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned. Jer. 2:34-35
If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever. Jer. 7:6-7
And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates: Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place. Jer. 22:2-3
But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was...Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter, That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them? And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood. And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the LORD GOD;) That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street. Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms. Ezek. 16:15, 20-25
Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel. Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth, Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name: That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress. They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly. Amos 5:6-10
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. Lk 1:31
For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. Lk. 1:44
We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Rom. 15:1
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. 1 Cor. 1:25-30
But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen... Gal. 1:15-16a
And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him. Heb. 7:9-10
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions. Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection.. Heb. 11:30-35
