Road to Rome: Was the Reformation Justified? by Greg Bahnsen on YouTube

Dr. Greg Bahnsen warns against evangelical compromise with Roman Catholicism. He preached this message (uploaded in 6 parts) in Jackson, Mississippi, just across the Mississippi river from Monroe, Louisiana, where the Auburn Avenue / Federal Vision march back to Rome publicly took place less than seven years after Dr. Bahnsen's death. Perhaps Dr. Bahnsen knew where some of his friends were heading and sought to warn them in this message.

As you can hear on these audios, Dr. Bahnsen passionately defended the true Biblical gospel and found the Roman perversion of that precious gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ abhorrent. I am firmly convinced that Dr. Bahnsen would have repudiated this Federal Vision heresy (departure from Biblical orthodoxy) had he been alive to witness it.

I am glad he did not witness it, as many friends and even his own son have followed this path to apostasy. May these men repent and return to the pure Biblical gospel of life.

Do We Live in a Communist Nation?

These are the 10 planks of the communist agenda (taken from Chapter 2 of Marx and Engels' "Communist Manifesto": http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1848/c... ):

1.  Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
2.  A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
3.  Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
4.  Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
5.  Centralisation of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
6.  Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.
7.  Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
8.  Equal liability of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
9.  Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.
10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, &c, &c. [Marx and Engels also called for "Abolition of the family."]

Marx and Engels also explicity rejected "eternal truths" and "bourgeois" Christianity in their "Communist Manifesto."

Which of these 10 planks of Commuism do the Republicans or the Democrats disagree with? The answer is none.

In fact, both parties specifically torpedo candidates who oppose these points of Communism.

We currently live in a Communist country. Both the Republicans and Democrats like Communism and seek to defend it. They simply disagree on how to implement the statist socialism. After all, the National Socialists (fascist Nazis) and the Marxist Communists hated each other; but, the bottom line is that both are statist socialists.

In this country, we currently have, respective to the 10 points of Communism above:

1.  Zoning ordinances, National Park System (http://www.nps.gov/index.htm); rented socialistically ("publicly") owned lands for rent to private individuals. Property and sales taxes of all kinds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Property_tax_in_the_United_States).

2.  A progressive or graduated income tax http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Income_tax_in_the_United_States.

3.  Inheritance and estate taxes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estate_tax_in_the_United_States); 55 % in 2013 (http://atr.org/dont-die-confiscatory-percent-death-tax-a7051). Also, Medicaid recipients' property is confiscated upon death (http://aspe.hhs.gov/daltcp/reports/estaterec.htm).

4.  Eminent domain and seizure of property by the state, to become property of the state, especially if deemed by the state as owned by "extremist," "domestic terrorists," or anti-statist groups, (http://www.columbia.edu/cu/cssn/expansion/infosheets/eminentdomain.pdf ; http://www.seizedpropertyauctions.com/ ; (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waco_siege) ;or even just pro-life groups(http://www.christianliferesources.com/news/vaapcon-troversy-fbi-database-of-pro-lifers-exposed-766 ; http://start.umd.edu/start/publications/research_briefs/LaFree_Bersani_HotSpotsOfUSTerrorism.pdf).

5.  An exclusive monopoly on legal tender and central control of the money supply and all banks by the nationalistic Federal Reserve (http://www.federalreserve.gov/).

6.  FCC (http://www.fcc.gov/) and FAA (http://www.faa.gov/), exclusive domain and control of transportion infrastructure under the federal Department of Transportation (http://www.dot.gov/). Virtually all commerical airports in the United States are owned by state and federal governments.

7.  Through pervasive laws, rules, acts, regulations and regulatory agencies, means of production (including families' homes) are strictly controlled by the state. USDA (http://www.usda.gov/wps/portal/usda/usdahome). Another way of doing this is via tyrannical environmental regulations. http://www.epa.gov/

8.  Department of Labor (http://www.dol.gov/) and Labor unions (industrial armies), including United Farm Workers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Farm_Workers); various federally mandated Labor Acts

9.  USDA Rural Development (http://www.rurdev.usda.gov/Home.html); USDA Farm Service http://www.fsa.usda.gov/FSA/webapp?area=home&subject=landing&topic=landing; Growth Management Acts and Land Conservation Acts (generally by state. internet search: [your state] "growth management"; this amusing site reviews GMAs from 8 states and concludes they didn't work very well. Their solution? more statism: http://www.vapreservation.org/growth/state.htm); farm subsidies (http://farm.ewg.org/)

10. Department of Education (http://www.ed.gov/) and the premier national Communist schooling union: http://www.nea.org/

I believe that the question before us is not: Do we vote for the Republican statist socialist or the Democrat statist socialist?

But rather, how may we reject statist socialism and rebuild our country after a Biblical, anti-Communist, civil government model?

Dominion Is the Real Point of Tension

"Education is not the primary issue. DOMINION is the real point of tension. If Christians are allowed to educate their children the way God commands, then they will dominate society. Let's get this clear from the beginning. Christianity is invincible, superior to every other system of religion. Allowed to run its course, nothing can stop it. Why do you think secular educators desperately want control of Christian children? Why do you think the State runs all the schools in Communist countries? It's a matter of indoctrinating the children of the State's enemies with a FOREIGN WORLD AND LIFE VIEW. A world and life view is a GRID THROUGH WHICH EVERYTHING IS UNDERSTOOD. The power to form a young person's worldview is the heart of education. This has been understood since John Dewey, one of the founders of public [statist-GD] education, first signed and advocated the first Human Manifesto. It's time Christians learned this as well." --Ray Sutton, from "Who Owns The Family: God or the State?" Dr. Gary North, General Editor (Dominion Press, 1986, p. 89)

Update: 2010 Christian Heritage Homeschool Conference

I had a wonderful time at the conference, and I was so encouraged and inspired by the speakers and the families attending.

Christian Heritage Home Educators of Washington will have DVDs and CDs of the conference available soon, and I would encourage anyone who can afford them to order them. Next year, I will probably not attend the conference, but rather just order the CDs. Attending the conference would be useful for those wanting to find like-minded families and fellowship in walking a similar walk with God in discipling their families.

I take comfort in my Father's Word (Psalm 68:3-11) and by trusting in Him. My part is to obey the LORD, trust in Him, not be rebellious toward Him or His plans for me (not in my heart or my thoughts, even), and rejoice in Him. He is powerful to move on my behalf, in His will and timing:

But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.

A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:

The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.

The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

2010 Christian Heritage Homeschool Conference

This Thursday through Saturday, April 22-24, I plan to attend the 5th* Annual Christian Heritage Home Educators of Washington Family Discipleship & Homeschooling Conference! I am so excited!! I attended last year and have the CDs from past conferences as well. The speakers are wise (at least wiser than I am!), and so inspiring!

Why attend when I am not married and have no children to homeschool? Because I pray in the Lord that I will be married and have children that I may homeschool one day. I want to prepare for it and possibly meet like-minded families. I certainly support other families who homeschool their children.

For more information about this conference, go to their web site,
here.

* I corrected this to "5th Annual" on May 4th. (It said "4th Annual" before.)

Judas Asparagus

I received this in an email. It is so cute and made me laugh. Enjoy!

A child was asked to write a book report on the entire Bible. Through the eyes of a child:

The Children's Bible in a Nutshell

In the beginning, which occurred near the start, there was nothing but God, darkness, and some gas. The Bible says, 'The Lord thy God is one, but I think He must be a lot older than that.

Anyway, God said, 'Give me a light!' and someone did.

Then God made the world.

He split the Adam and made Eve. Adam and Eve were naked, but they weren't embarrassed because mirrors hadn't been invented yet.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating one badapple, so they were driven from the Garden of Eden.....Not sure what they were driven in though, because they didn't have cars.

Adam and Eve had a son, Cain, who hated his brother as long as he was Abel.

Pretty soon all of the early people died off, except forMethuselah, who lived to be like a million or something.

One of the next important people was Noah, who was a good guy, but one of his kids was kind of a Ham. Noah built a large boat and put his family and some animals on it. He asked some other people to join him, but they said they would have to take a rain check.

After Noah came Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob was more famous than his brother, Esau, because Esau sold Jacob his birthmark in exchange for some pot roast. Jacob had a son named Joseph who wore a really loud sports coat.

Another important Bible guy is Moses, whose real name was Charlton Heston. Moses led the Israel Lights out of Egypt and away from the evil Pharaoh after God sent ten plagues on Pharaoh's people. These plagues included frogs, mice, lice, bowels, and no cable.

God fed the Israel Lights every day with manicotti. Then he gave them His Top Ten Commandments. These include: don't lie, cheat, smoke, dance, or covet your neighbor's stuff.

Oh, yeah, I just thought of one more: Humor thy father and thy mother.

One of Moses' best helpers was Joshua who was the first Bible guy to use spies. Joshua fought the battle of Geritol and the fence fell over on the town.

After Joshua came David.. He got to be king by killing a giant with a slingshot. He had a son named Solomon who had about 300 wives and 500 porcupines. My teacher says he was wise, but that doesn't sound very wise to me.

After Solomon there were a bunch of major league prophets. One of these was Jonah, who was swallowed by a big whale and then barfed up on the shore.

There were also some minor league prophets, but I guess we don't have to worry about them.

After the Old Testament came the New Testament. Jesus is the star of The New. He was born in Bethlehem in a barn. (I wish I had been born in a barn too, because my mom is always saying to me, 'Close the door! Were you born in a barn?' It would be nice to say, 'As a matter of fact, I was.')

During His life, Jesus had many arguments with sinners like the Pharisees and the Democrats.

Jesus also had twelve opossums.

The worst one was Judas Asparagus. Judas was so evil that they named a terrible vegetable after him.

Jesus was a great man. He healed many leopards and even preached to some Germans on the Mount.

But the Democrats and all those guys put Jesus on trial before Pontius the Pilot. Pilot didn't stick up for Jesus. He just washed his hands instead.

Anyways, Jesus died for our sins, then came back to life again. He went up to Heaven but will be back at the end of the Aluminum. His return is foretold in the book of Revolution.

Domestic Felicity: Student debt gone to extreme

Mrs. Anna T. over at Domestic Felicity has a good article on questioning student debt gone to extreme.

Like many young women raised to reject God's ways and embrace feminism instead (and I didn't need to be raised that way, I would have followed the crooked path of my sinful heart on my own!), I incurred huge student debt to pursue a career I never wanted in my heart of hearts.

Thanks to God, after many years in the workforce, I have paid off that debt and am now debt-free (renting an apartment). Nevertheless, I wasted years earning money to pay off debt to which I should never have enslaved myself. We have a merciful God in Christ Jesus!

And may other dear young ladies be warned by my bad example!

What a Gospel Tract Can (and Can't) Do

Tracts do not disciple or build a relationship with another person. They simply get the gospel and the word of God out. I personally believe tracts are vital to evangelism. But they are not the whole picture or even the major picture.

People need to be properly taught and discipled in a local Bible-believing church to grow in the faith, receive proper training in the doctrine of the Word, and grow a strong-rooted faith. If you are discipling someone in the faith, teaching the Bible, answering their questions, building trust and relationship with them, and they ask to pray with you for their salvation, by all means, pray!

But tracts don't do all that. Tracts are just a small beginning. They call the lost, proclaim the gospel, and may even convict of sin, but they can't disciple a soul.
